Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement
Last updated: 29 March 2026
1. Purpose and scope
This statement describes the approach of Chitral Skills Academy (“CSA”, “we”, “us”) to modern slavery and human trafficking. Although our organisation operates primarily in Pakistan and is not subject to the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, we publish this statement in the spirit of transparency expected of responsible organisations and to align with partners who may require such disclosures.
“Modern slavery” includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We have zero tolerance for these practices in our own operations and in our supply chains to the extent we can influence them.
2. Our organisation
CSA delivers skills training and related educational services in Chitral, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Our activities involve teaching staff, administrative staff, contractors, learners, and relationships with local partners, suppliers of goods and services (for example materials, IT, facilities), and occasional funders or sponsors.
We assess our sector and operating model as relatively low risk for modern slavery compared to industries with large informal labour forces or complex global supply chains, but we remain vigilant.
3. Policies
Our Human Rights Policy affirms dignity, non-discrimination, and opposition to exploitation. We do not use forced labour and we expect the same from those who work with us.
Recruitment is conducted directly or through reputable channels. We do not charge recruitment fees to candidates for employment at CSA.
4. Due diligence
When engaging suppliers or significant partners, we consider reputation and, where relevant, ask questions about labour practices. We do not claim exhaustive supply-chain auditing but we take seriously any credible allegation connected to our work.
For programmes involving young or vulnerable learners, we follow safeguarding-aware practices consistent with our training mission and local expectations.
5. Training and awareness
We raise awareness among staff and key associates so that signs of exploitation can be recognised and escalated. As we grow, we intend to deepen training on modern slavery indicators and reporting pathways.
6. Reporting concerns
Anyone who suspects modern slavery or human trafficking in connection with CSA’s activities should contact us immediately through our contact page or, where appropriate, report to competent authorities. We will not retaliate against good-faith reports.
7. Review
We will review this statement at least annually, or sooner if our operations or risk profile change materially. The “Last updated” date below will be revised accordingly.
