Our story

Born from necessity, built with intention.

From Booni to a pilot that helped twenty people into work: the longer version of why Chitral Skills Academy exists, and what we refuse to compromise on.

We are not here to hand out fish. We are here to teach people how to fish.

Narrative

I grew up in Booni, Chitral. By the time I completed my BSCS, I had spent years inside the same loop many of us know: theoretical classes, traditional schooling, exams, and then silence about what work actually looks like here. The degree was real. The roadmap was not.

Around us there was almost no industry and very little honest guidance. Capable people left home because they could not see dignified options nearby. I felt that gap personally, not as a headline, but as a daily struggle. There was no credible path in the country that matched the ambition I saw in our own valley.

Chitral Skills Academy is our response: a place where you learn by building and doing, not only by reading lectures. We want learning to feel useful and even cool, for someone starting out and for someone returning with purpose. We will not chase empty certificates, hype, or a blind copy of big-city models. Quality over quantity, always.

I am from Booni. I studied computer science, but much of what shaped me happened outside the syllabus, in the gap between graduation and any real option at home. No industry, no roadmap, and pressure to leave. I knew that loop because I lived inside it.

In 2024, with my mother's support, we ran a pilot course to see if Chitral would respond to training that was calm, direct, and built around doing. Twenty people from that first batch found work. That number did not make us famous; it made us responsible: to keep improving, not to perform success.

If you are reading this: you do not need permission from a distant city to become excellent at something. You need honest teachers, time to practice, and work you can show. We refuse empty certificates and hype. We would rather teach you how to fish than hand you one meal and call it a career.

Timeline

The arc so far

Not every date, just the beats that explain how we got here.

  1. 2022

    The idea takes root

After years in theory-heavy classrooms, the problem was clear: talent in Chitral, but no industry and no path forward. The idea for a different kind of school began here, not as a polished business plan, but as a question I could not ignore.

  2. 2023

    Testing the ground

Before we called ourselves an academy, we tested the idea in small, honest ways: listening to families, watching which skills mattered on the ground, and learning whether people would trust training built around practice, not ceremony.

  3. 2024

    Pilot, refinement, and proof

With my mother's support, we ran a pilot course to test the market and commit to something different. We refined how we teach: less lecture, more doing. When twenty people from that first pilot batch moved into employment, the decision was no longer theoretical. It was proven.

  4. 2025

    Planning with discipline

We paused to plan the next chapter properly: clearer programmes, stronger standards, and an evolution in how Chitral experiences learning. The aim was never to grow fast for show, but to build something people could trust term after term.

  5. 2026

    Launch and execution

This is the year of launching with intention: executing what we planned, widening pathways carefully, and keeping the same promise: teach skills that last, respect local life, and prepare people for work they can prove.
